TAEP/AAP has designed the White Fortress, a contemporary house in Al Khiran, Kuwait.
By merging architecture with culture and climatic sensitivity, this poetic retreat exemplifies Northern Gulf architecture's ethos of privacy and climatic resilience.
Encased in monumental walls, the White Fortress shields against the arid landscape while crafting a controlled interior world. The dwelling, structured around patios, juxtaposes solid enclosures with glazed facades, mediating transparency and seclusion.
A central green oasis orchestrates spatial hierarchy, bridging service, private and social zones.
Towards the sea, an open-air threshold blurs boundaries – while a soaring tower, recalling a lighthouse, anchors the composition, offering solitude, elevation and infinite views.
This project has been longlisted in the house urban category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
