William Morris and Art from the Islamic World explores the influence of Islamic art upon the creative output of eminent nineteenth century designer William Morris.

Morris created a plethora of prints that decorated wallpapers, fabrics and soft furnishings, many of which were informed by motifs present in Islamic art.

This exhibition displays the work of Morris side-by-side with art, objects and artefacts from Islamic cultures, and also examines the nuances between artworks made in different regions.

William Morris and Art from the Islamic World takes place from 9 November 2024 to 9 March 2025 at William Morris Gallery, Lloyd Park, Forest Road, Walthamstow, London E17 4PP.
