Milan-based architect Alessandro Scandurra sets an installation in the Courtyard of Honor at the University of Milan during the city's design week.

Following the theme of destruction and restoration, the project draws inspiration from the ongoing conflicts around the world and building from what remains.

The installation consists of a 16-meter-diameter structure of rubble, serving as both ruin and architecture, and a suspended walkway breaking into the interior of the ring.

Mater – Alessandro Scandurra takes place from 20 to 30 April 2026 at the Courtyard of Honor, Università degli Studi di Milano, Ca' Granda, Via Festa del Perdono 7, 20122 Milan, Italy.
