     the London Borough of Hackney have announced the details of their Architecture Weekend, a free event showcasing architecture in the borough.

    Taking place from 28 to 29 July at Hackney House, the event will give visitors the chance to speak to architects who have studios in Hackney or have designed work in the borough, with entertainment from comedians, musicians and DJs in the evenings.     the latest RIBA Future Trends Survey has shown that the majority of architects in the UK anticipate a decline in workload over the summer, particularly in the private housing sector.

    The British public don't understand the role of the architect

     the majority of the British public have "little idea" what architects do, according to a recent survey commissioned by online architect's forum Inbuilding.org.

    The results reveal that 15% of adults are unaware that architects design buildings, while as many as 72% don't know that architects apply for the planning permission required for construction. More about The British public don't understand the role of the architect

    a $1 billion project to build an experimental city with no inhabitants in the New Mexico desert has been postponed - Daily Mail

    Developer Pegasus struggled to find land for the 15-square mile city designed to test new technologies such as self-flushing toilets, intelligent traffic systems and next-generation wireless networks.
