Zaha Hadid's best buildings photographed by Hufton + Crow

Zaha Hadid 1950-2016: following the sudden death of architect Zaha Hadid, photographers Nick Hufton and Allan Crow have shared their favourite images of her buildings, which the pair have been documenting for the last six years (+ slideshow).

Hufton + Crow first caught the attention of Zaha Hadid Architects in 2010, when the pair sent the studio a set of uncommissioned images of the recently completed Evelyn Grace Academy.

This lead to an ongoing collaboration that saw the photographers travel across the globe, shooting some of the most ambitious projects of the Iraqi-born British architect, from the Guangzhou Opera House in China to the Sheikh Zayed Bridge in Abu Dhabi.

"Nick and I have photographed Zaha Hadid Architects buildings for many years," Crow told Dezeen. "I can vividly remember them all from Evelyn Grace Academy which was our first, through the MAXXI Museum, Aquatics Centre, Guangzhou Opera House, Riverside Museum, Pierrevives, Soho Galaxy, Eli & Edythe Broad Art Museum, Heyday Aliyev Center and many more."

"Each and every one are some of the most dynamic and exciting projects we have ever worked on."

The pair rarely work together on shoots, but made an exception in the case of Hadid's Heydar Aliyev Center in Baku, Azerbaijan, which they travelled out to photograph in 2013. One of their images was later named photograph of the year at the 2014 Arcaid Images Architectural Photography Awards.

"I can speak for both of us when I say we have never enjoyed photographing architecture so much and we consider it a highlight of our careers and a privilege to have done so many," added Crow. "She leaves an incredible legacy of work."
