Swedish House Mafia and IKEA product launch and talks feature today at IKEA Festival

The launch of a home furnishing range designed for creating and listening to music by Swedish House Mafia is one of the highlights on the third day of IKEA Festival, which Dezeen is partnering with during Milan design week.

The six-day IKEA Festival is currently taking place in Milan and includes the Swedish brand's latest product and collaboration news in addition to a range of democratic design talks and exhibitions.

New collection from IKEA and Swedish House Mafia launches
10:00am Milan time

IKEA has developed a collection of home furnishing solutions with electronic music artists Swedish House Mafia for producing, performing and listening to music at home.

Called Obegränsad, the collection includes a desk, armchair and record player, which are intended to make "everyday life easier for the many people listening to and creating music".

It is designed to offer a variety of furniture solutions for music producers, DJs and musicians.

Democratic Design Talk: Hear about the new "Ideas Factory" from IKEA and H&M
11:30am Milan time

This Democratic Design Talk will focus on IKEA and retailer H&M's Ideas Factory, Atelier100, which aims to spotlight small-scale designers and manufacturers in a hyper-local environment.

Speakers include chief creative officer of IKEA Retail Marcus Engman, global brand innovation manager at H&M Camilla Henriksson, founder of Palazzo Monti Edoardo Monti and creative at the Atelier100 programme Zoe Horgan.

Lunchtime performance from Teodor Wolgers

Swedish musician Teodor Wolgers will perform on an old IKEA Renn piano from the 70s during the festival.

IKEA Museum Throwback Thursday: The first home through the ages – from the 1950s to tomorrow
14:00pm Milan time

IKEA Museum presents a talk that focuses on the "Folkhem" era of Sweden where "one million households were being built in record time". The talk will discuss the period at which IKEA established its vision of designing affordable and stylish homes.

Performance by Seinabo Sey and Viagra Boys
20.45pm Milan Time

Electro-pop Swedish signer Seinabo Sey and Swedish post-punk band The Viagra Boys will perform on the IKEA stage during an evening performance.
