Dezeen Showroom: Spanish brand Ibero aimed to recreate "the sensuousness of one of the stoniest of slates" with its Terranova range of tiles.

Designed to suit a wide variety of spaces both indoors and out, the Terranova tiles have a slate-like pattern rendered in beige or grey tones.

"The surfaces are impressively naturalistic and feature a soft texture that is available in four neutral colours," said Ibero area export manager Jai Vaidyanathan.

Porcelain versions of the Terranova tiles are available for floors in five sizes, while white-body ceramic versions are available for walls, including in mosaic styles.

In addition, there are two décor designs tapping into contemporary trends for variegated tone and texture – a relief tile called Art and a horizontally striped tile called Concept.
