Heirloom pendant light by Buoyant
Dezeen Showroom: cast glass, metal and leather meet in this handcrafted pendant light created by American designer Josh Neretin for his company Buoyant.
The Heirloom pendant centres on a sculptural, cross-shaped piece of clear glass that hangs suspended in leather straps slung under a square-edged metal rod.

Light shines from the bottom of the rod onto the glass element, lighting up the tiny inclusions within the material and giving off a soft glow that shimmers slightly.
"Combining organic and geometric design, our Heirloom pendant features a cast glass diffuser highlighting inclusions from the casting process," said Buoyant. "Hand-worked leather adds warmth and complements this fixture's soft, radiant sparkle."

It can be hung on its own or in configurations of multiples, and it can be ordered in an array of metal and leather finishes.
The fixture is one of several in Buoyant's catalogue, which was started by Neretin to fabricate handcrafted light fixtures with a heritage in sculpture and a focus on material and form.
