Nissan grillz by Loud Mouth LDN

Loud Mouth LDN translates Nissan car grills into bespoke grillz

Automotive brand Nissan has collaborated with London-based jewellery studio Loud Mouth LDN to create a series of custom grillz that reimagine Nissan car grills.

Designed and crafted by Loud Mouth LDN, the four-piece jewellery collection was commissioned by Nissan's Nismo division to celebrate the FIA Formula E World Championship finale taking place in London this weekend.

The grillz, which are removable accessories that snap over teeth, each feature signature design elements from Nissan's all-electric sports cars. These include the Formula E GEN3 Evo, the Z GT500, R34 Skyline GT-R and the R34 Pennzoil.

Nissan has unveiled a one-off collection of bespoke grillz

Nissan commissioned the Peckham-based studio to create the metal jewellery pieces, in a bid to combine the car brand's design heritage with London's cultural scene.

Unlike its previous commissions, Loud Mouth LDN began its design process for the collection with a focus on the "shapes and details of the cars".

"This collaboration was something completely different for us," founder of Loud Mouth LDN Reece Garcia said.

"For this project, rather than starting with letters or logos, we looked at the shapes and details of the cars and translated them into something that works as jewellery."

Loud Mouth LDN designed the pieces to resemble Nissan car grills

"Grillz are one of the only pieces of jewellery that are completely built around the individual, giving people a really unique way to express who they are," Garcia continued.

One of the pieces has a silver grill adorned with red enamel outlines and a white panel embossed with cherry blossoms, designed to mimic the exterior of Nissan's Formula E GEN3 Evo race car.

Another, which was informed by the Japanese brand's Z GT500 car, has a red enamel base with black and yellow detailing to match the car's specific colourway.

Similarly, the collection's two additional pieces draw on the colourways of the Skyline GT-R R34 and R34 Pennzoil cars, featuring glossy blue and yellow-toned enamel designs respectively.

The colourful pieces serve as removable jewellery pieces

The collection will be on display at the FIA Formula E World Championship finale taking place at ExCeL London this weekend, where visitors will have a chance to win one of the bespoke pieces.

Other jewellery recently featured on Dezeen includes a quartz ring by design studios Modem and Retinaa that can prove whether its wearer is human and not an AI-generated clone, and customisable Lego rings by Studio GOGO that are "made to be played with".
