Dezeen Showroom: Spanish brand Actiu and design firm Alegre Design have updated the TNK500 task chair, adding lightweight robustness and distinctive metallic finishes.

An evolution of the 15-year-old TNK500 task chair, the TNK500 Aurea is designed for workplaces that prioritise both ergonomics and aesthetics.

It features a newly engineered aluminium structure intended to deliver both lightness and durability, and a choice of elegant metallic finishes – bronze, copper or titanium – in addition to the more standard black, white and polished options.

The TNK500 Aurea task chair otherwise maintains the same ergonomic features that have made its predecessor a long-lasting success.

A self-weighting synchronised mechanism allows different users to quickly get a comfortable sitting position, while the option to lock the tilt at four backrest positions adds customisability.

Actiu's Air Comfort System, with internal air chambers built into the seat foam, contributes to the comfort level and helps support healthy posture.

Sustainability concerns have also influenced the design of the TNK500 Aurea task chair, which is made with almost 60 per cent recycled materials and is more than 82 per cent recyclable at the end of its life.
