Benjamin Hubert
Industrial designer Benjamin Hubert is the founder of award-winning London design studio Layer.
Hubert launched Layer in 2015, with the aim of creating meaningful products for both the physical and digital worlds, based on extensive research of human behaviours.
The studio specialises in industrial design, mechanical and electrical engineering, user experience design, user interaction design, branding, and human-centred research. Layer create products that help define how we will live, work and communicate in the future, from smart wearables and A.I, to mobile communication tools and media devices.
With its growing creative team of twenty designers led by Benjamin Hubert, Layer has ongoing partnerships with forward-thinking brands including Nike, Samsung, Braun, Pepsi, BMW, Swarovski, Fritz Hansen, Herman Miller and Aesop, creating meaningful products with a global perspective.
Layer has received a number of awards, including the Red Dot Design Best of the Best Award. Hubert has judged a number of awards programmes and was the jury president for the D&AD Product Design Award 2018.
Hubert and Layer were named among the 500 most newsworthy forces in global design in the 2017 Dezeen Hot List.
