Stacked Planters House
by Vo Trong Nghia Architects

Located in a neatly-planned urban area in Ho Chi Minh City, Stacked Planters House was designed for three generations of a typical Vietnamese family.

The latest project within the “House for Trees” series, Stacked Planters House attempts to bring green space back into the city and serve as a small park in a dense neighbourhood in Vietnam. The house consists of randomly-stacked concrete boxes that allow for privacy and horizontal floors that serve as semi-outdoor living areas and terraces, with trees penetrating floors throughout. Surrounded by greenery, the residents are immersed in nature despite their dense, urban surroundings.
