Passerelle Pont Adolphe
by CBA Architects

Shortlisted for rebirth project of the year at Dezeen Awards 2019, Passerelle Pont Adolphe by CBA Architects is a suspended pathway for pedestrians and cyclists.

The four-metre wide footbridge has a lightweight steel system to create a path beneath the 153-metre-long Adolphe bridge, which is located in the heart of the city centre and is protected by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage Site. The bridge was built in 1903 and is one of Luxembourg City's most important architectural structures.

The project was in response to the brief given to Christian Bauer, who leads the local architecture studio, to create a pathway in the space between the two sets of arches that support the bridge.
