NCDA has designed an apartment in Hong Kong with a sculpture garden that pays homage to the ancient Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi.

Inherently flawed materials, including oxidized bronze and textured plaster, reflect the Japanese respect for transience and imperfection and celebrate natural objects and processes.

The minimalist atmosphere with hidden storage helps the residents to focus on textures and materials and creates a simple modern atmosphere.

This oasis away from the hustle and bustle of the city provides a contemporary interpretation of wabi-sabi living.

This project has been longlisted in the apartment interior category of Dezeen Awards 2020.
