Chandeliers in Fontainebleau Castle
by Projectiles

Gilles Coulon, Tendance Floue, Oppic

Projectiles has designed a chandelier as part of the modernisation works in the historic Fontainebleau Castle in France.

The Fontainebleau domain and castle, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, launched a programme of restoration and modernisation. The first masterplan phase concerned the security and modernisation of the reception areas.

Projectiles carried out the layout work with an understanding of the layout and ergonomics of the fittings, signage and public information. In order to reinforce the palatial dimension, the studio designed an original chandelier for which takes place in each room.

The chandelier has a circular shape, featuring a different undulation according to the room in which it is located.

This project has been longlisted in the lighting design category of Dezeen Awards 2020.
