Oregon studio Selek has designed a water glass that aims to improve people's water drinking habits without them realising it.

The project was initiated by the studio's curiosity about why people are attracted to shiny things. While expecting wealth associations to be the reason of this interest, research studies found that their resemblance to vital water resources make glossy objects desirable.

Through its carefully designed reflections and refractions, the product makes a familiar water glass form more attractive through its shine.

This project has been longlisted in the homeware design project category of Dezeen Awards 2020.
