Larsen Ceramics
by McKinley Studios

Luis Alberto Valdizon

McKinley Studios and ceramic artist Janaki Larsen have created a collection of ceramic clusters that interconnect to form an 11-foot functional centrepiece.

Drawing inspiration from the barnacle formations that occur in the tidepools of the Pacific West Coast, the enigmatic tablescape art echoes the beauty of nature while evoking the Japanese wabi-sabi philosophy of celebrating imperfection.

It is designed to be open to interpretation – whether enjoyed as a tabletop centrepiece, or joined by the talent of a chef, perhaps a florist, or wherever the mind may lead.

This project has been longlisted in the homeware design project category of Dezeen Awards 2020.
