Brighton Street Early Learning
by Danielle Brustman and Perkins Architects

Danielle Brustman was engaged to work on the interiors of a repurposed Brutalist building that was being converted into an early education centre by Perkins Architects in Melbourne.

The brief was to design a stimulating and engaging interior scheme that would push the colour palette way beyond the conventions of traditional education design.

The focus on using natural and durable materials and excellent craftsmanship was an integral part of the specification and design process. The aim is to create a centre that is inspiring, healthy and sustainable for both children and staff. The design includes hand painted graphic wall murals throughout.

This project has been longlisted in the civic and cultural interior category of Dezeen Awards 2021.
