Soft Geometry's Elio lamps began as a personal photo series that documented plays of light on glass, water, skin, and dust.

They wanted to recreate in object form, the moments when light diffused and glowed. Picturing frosted sugar jellies as a visual reference, they found that soft iridescence in translucent resin formed in a textured silicone mould.

The lamp's tubular stack can be built to any height, and its singular bend is an ode to Eileen Gray's Bibendum lounge.

Elio is a smart lamp with options for digital switch, voice control and energy efficient scheduling options.

This project has been longlisted in the lighting design category of Dezeen Awards 2021.
