Tetro Arquitetura has created a house amid nature in Brazil that sees a design adapted to its surroundings in recognition of the beauty of nature.

The project is located in the Nova Lima region in Minas Gerais, amid a lush steep-sloped terrain filled with large leafy trees, foliage, shrubs, birds and wild animals.

The design encompasses a house moulded to the terrain, in recognition of its surroundings. The bold white form is placed on black pillars to blend with the tree trunks of the forest, and sees those arriving from the slope beneath look up to simultaneously take in both the heights of the trees and the house alongside.

Openings and folds in the slab structure reach the view of the treetops, and are harmoniously inserted next to the natural vegetation all the while respecting its presence.

This project has been longlisted in the rural house category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
