Studio Tate has designed Burnet Institute in Melbourne, Australia.

This project is the skilful redesign of the Burnet Institute workplace that reflects a sense of collective optimism and strength. All Burnet Institute employees now have a work floor they are proud of, and want to visit.

A brief to refurbish a floor of the Burnet Institute in Melbourne resulted in a strong design outcome, where a new floor plan, colour scheme and artwork overlay tell the story of Burnet and the work it does.

By opening the workflow as much as possible, staff benefit from natural light and views – an important outcome to promote wellbeing and serenity. The result is an energised workspace that reflects the Burnet Institute's philanthropic pursuits and elevates the working lives and prosperity of their people.

Sustainability was a priority for both Burnet and Studio Tate while working within a restrained budget, with consideration given to materiality and natural light to maximise the verdant aspect of Fawkner Park across the road.

This project has been longlisted in the large workspace interiors category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
