Brodie Neill has created ReCoil, a dining table made from reclaimed wood in an underwater forest in Tasmania.

ReCoil continues London-based Tasmanian designer, Brodie Neill's quest to recontextualise our relationship with waste and the natural world.

In this project, Neill has reclaimed, reinterpreted and elevated over three kilometres of wood veneer harvested from an underwater forest in Tasmania to create ReCoil, an elliptical dining table.

Neill used an intensive handmade process and parametric technology to mimic complex systems found in nature to produce this museum-grade collectable design piece.

"The timber veneer is meticulously coiled in outward spirals in homage to the annual growth rings of trees," told Brodie Neill.

This project has been shortlisted in the furniture design category of Dezeen Awards 2023.
