Prizes: The competition will distribute €111,000 in prizes among the winning projects. This will be divided into the following categories: XL category – for houses over 1,000 square meters and awarded €60,000; L category – for houses between 500 and 1,000 square meters and awarded €30,000; and M Category – for houses up to 500 square meters, which will be awarded €20,000
Competition overview
Casas inHAUS launches the Best House in The World competition, which seeks outstanding pre-construction residential projects. The international competition seeks projects that have a real client and real plot of land.
The competition is open to architectural studios, professionals and designers from all over the world.
The goal of the competition is to highlight the ability of architects and designers to create projects that contribute to the future of housing.
The competition's jury is made up of designers, architects from renowned studios and platforms such as ArchDaily, Foster + Partners, Sebastian Herkner and L35. It has also attracted the attention of international collaborators such as Porcelanosa and Schüco.

Eligibility and judging criteria
The competition is open to architecture studios, professionals and designers from all over the world. Registration is free of charge.
Designers can enter the competition if they have a real residential project in the pre-construction phase – whether in the design phase or tendering phase.
Unlike other competitions – where candidates must present completed projects and real buildings – here participants can submit projects at any stage of development.
Submissions will be judged on how innovative the project is and how it meets clients' demands.

Entrants are required to fill in the submission form on the organisation's website.
Afterwards they will receive an email outlining the documentation they have to send to apply.

Submission deadlines
The closing date for submissions is 31 May and the winners will be announced on 30 September.
