Lake Flato Architects has designed the Point Dume Residence in California, United States.
The Point Dume Residence was designed with a classic Californian lifestyle in mind; strong connections to the outdoors with an abundance of natural daylight blur the boundaries between indoors and out.
The architecture of the home is a dialogue between the crisp detailing of a structural steel frame, the warmth of natural wood and strong geometric language rendered through plaster walls that direct the reflected light of the landscape to the home's interior.
The owners' passion for art and their design background are featured throughout the home, with ample spaces prioritised in the design to support the display of their art collection and facilitate access to their vast libraries.
In addition, a lap pool, a natural surface tennis court and ample storage for recreational equipment support the clients' active coastal lifestyle.
This project has been longlisted in the house urban category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
