Stempel & Tesar has designed the Villa Sidonius in Prague, Czech Republic.
Villa Sidonius is an architectural and technological experiment resembling a steel footbridge placed on a steep slope, where it has been turned to face the best northern and southern views.
Situated on a steeply sloping site surrounded by trees in a town outside Prague, Villa Sidonius is designed as a modern take on the varied villas that have historically defined the area.
Since the Černošice villa district dates back to the early 20th century, it's home to Art Nouveau and First Republic villas, where a collection of unique family homes at the northern and western foot of Babka Hill stand out from their surroundings.
"Without a doubt, the site's greatest asset is the beautiful view of the Berounka Valley, the hills of the Bohemian Karst and the Prague skyline in the background," said Stempel & Tesar.
This project has been longlisted in the house urban category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
