DROO Architects has redesigned and refurbished The Arc Polo Farm, an equestrian farm and polo training facilities in Surrey, England.
Drawing on the Japanese principle of Shakkei, where architecture borrows views beyond its reach, The Arc unfolds as a horseshoe masterplan of interlinked sites.
A string of pearls – the stables, courtyard, gardens, contemporary clubhouse with its rain-harvesting curved roof clad in Shou Sugi Ban and barbeque deck – frames the polo field like a living sculpture.
Anchored by ancient oak trees, each space creates a seamless dialogue between historic character and sustainable design, preserving native flora, managing water efficiently and elevating Arc Polo Farm into a world-class equestrian retreat.
This project has been longlisted in the leisure and wellness project category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
