White Arkitekter has designed Våga Water Tower, a striking water tower in Varberg, Sweden.
Just outside the Swedish coastal town of Varberg stands the water tower Våga, which acts as a symbol of Varberg's deep connection to the sea and the vital role of drinking water.
187 metres in length but only nine metres wide, Våga traces a line across the flat rural landscape.
With its distinctive silhouette and bold design, Våga is a world-unique structure that breaks new ground in water tower architecture. The wave-shaped silhouette establishes a landmark that symbolises both the water tower's and Varberg's strong connection to water.
This project has been longlisted in the infrastructure and transport project category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
