Nice Projects has designed the interiors of Somma, a Puglian-inspired fine dining restaurant that transforms a 1960s school library into a stunning double-vaulted space to create a unique dining experience in Singapore.

Designed by Nice Projects, Somma has a distinctive, minimal but tactile Italian spirit that perfectly complements the building's striking Brutalist architecture.

The restaurant is the brainchild of Italian chef Mirko Febbrile, where 'Somma' translates as 'sum' in Italian and reflects Febbrile's belief that humanity's collective choices can redefine luxury for the modern age.

"Eating here is a unique experience," said Nice Projects. "Guests are greeted on arrival by the entire kitchen staff and their meal starts in the open plan kitchen."

"Our design is deeply rooted in the restaurant's culinary inspiration. It evokes the spirit of Febbrile’s southern Italian home, with a contemporary interpretation," added Nice Projects.

This project has been longlisted in the restaurant interior category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
