Carroccera Collective has designed The Missing Room, an open-air living structure designed to reimagine domestic rituals in symbiosis with nature in Piedmont, Italy.

The Missing Room is an open-air structure nestled in a regenerating forest anchored by a seven-meter stainless steel chimney and includes integrated wood-fired ovens, a heated bathing basin, a modular water channel system and a custom sail canopy.

Conceived as a place to reimagine everyday rituals – cooking, bathing, resting – it invites visitors to experience time, comfort and dwelling in a radically elemental way, surrounded by nature rather than enclosed from it.

Built with durable, weather-resistant materials and non-invasive foundations, the structure merges architectural precision with the unpredictability of the landscape.

This project has been longlisted in the small project category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
