Genton has designed Pakenham Station, a low-carbon train station in Pakenham, Australia.

Pakenham Station is a pioneering, sustainability-led transport hub that sets a new benchmark for low-carbon rail infrastructure in Australia.

Designed with a strong civic and environmental ethos, the project features a digitally fabricated roof made from reinforced thermoset, an innovative, lightweight material that eliminates secondary steel and significantly reduces embodied carbon.

The station's open-air design maximises daylight, natural ventilation and passive safety, eliminating the need for energy-intensive enclosure systems.

Elevated rail removes three level crossings, reconnecting communities while unlocking over 120,000 square metres of activated green space.

This project redefines public infrastructure as both climate-resilient and socially inclusive.

This project has been longlisted in the sustainable building category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
