Nelly Ben Hayoun-Stépanian has designed Piccadilly Un:Plugged, curated by New Public for Art of London, a site-specific installation across London's West End.

Piccadilly Un:Plugged transformed London's West End into a free and accessible cosmic playground where recorded sounds were bounced off the Moon and back – broadcast from iridescent asteroids in the centre of Piccadilly Circus.

Engaging the audience with extraterrestrial aesthetics to reconnect with London's vibrant nightlife was one of the goals of designer Nelly Ben Hayoun-Stépanian when creating this installation curated by New Public for Art of London.

Fusing science, design innovation and activism for International Women's Day, female, trans and non-binary artists collaborated with space agencies, astronomers and youths.

As a result, visitors encountered neon cats, telescopes and ET-inspired ceramics in this vibrant event.

This project has been longlisted in the installation design category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
