What if: projects has designed Perfect Flower, a performative intervention by and for LGBTQ+ young people.

Commissioned by the London Legacy Development Corporation as an enquiry into "Safety for Women, Girls and Gender Diverse people in Public Spaces", Perfect Flower began with the fact that over 90% of flowering plant species are hermaphroditic –  biologists call these "perfect flowers".

Inspired by nature's queerness and facilitated by the LBN Youth Empowerment Services Participation Team in Stratford, the LGBTQ+ youth group transformed themselves into a queer plant family, crafting new body parts from cardboard in defiance of the controlled public environment.

This project advocates for the wild, untamed and chaotic as essential forces for life and survival.

This project has been longlisted in the installation design category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
