Jenchieh Hung + Kulthida Songkittipakdee / HAS design and research have designed the Aluminum Grotto and Public Ground, showcasing a valley-like grotto that creates a natural impression.
The Aluminum Grotto and Public Ground reflect Thailand's significance in aluminum manufacturing while providing a free public resting place with a valley-like, natural impression, offering a tranquil escape amidst the busy urban environment.
The space allows the public to participate in non-profit functions supported by architects Jenchieh Hung and Kulthida Songkittipakdee of Jenchieh Hung + Kulthida Songkittipakdee / HAS design and research.
The project also critiques the current issue of Bangkok's average green open space per capita, which is only 6.99 m2—well below the World Health Organisation's recommended 9 square metres – and offers a new perspective on Bangkokians' lifestyle and future living trends.
This project has been longlisted in the installation design category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
