Blond has designed Lily, a wearable device engineered by Luminate that helps reduce chemotherapy-induced hair loss by applying controlled scalp compression through a discreet, helmet-like structure.
Lily is a wearable device designed to reduce chemotherapy-induced hair loss by applying controlled scalp compression through a helmet-like structure.
Blond was commissioned to design both the device and its carry case, enhancing user experience, visual appeal and material sensitivity.
A key objective was to ensure Lily could be used both in clinical and home environments – retaining medical credibility while feeling less intimidating.
The final design is intuitive, dignified and lifestyle-led, offering patients a discreet and empowering alternative to conventional treatment aids.
This project has been longlisted in the product design (health, wellbeing and wearables) category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
