ZHIXIANG Design has renovated the interiors and facade of ENC, a two-story building in Changsha, China.
This project's design focuses on breaking away from traditional business language, drawing on the design language inherent in the product and thoroughly considering the multiple possibilities of functional requirements, material forms and spatial experiences.
The result is a design that returns to the inherent structural display of architectural techniques, balancing the tension and relaxation of different materials, colours and textures, reshaping a deeper and more continuous emotional connection with customers and creating a brand field with complex functions and content.
This project links the overall renovation of the two-story facade and interior, replacing the wall facing the street with a transparent floor-to-ceiling window, building a light skeleton and achieving a coherent and interconnected landscape inside and outside.
At the same time, ENC maximises the dynamic perspective of pedestrians on the roadside, highlights the brand logo and interacts with potential customers invisibly.
This project has been longlisted in the retail interior (large) category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
