Ketchum Creative has designed Liming With Gran, a science-derived, domino-inspired question game for elders.
Within London's Caribbean community, health conversations are still considered taboo. Silence is costing lives and up to 65 per cent of people die from genetically linked conditions such as cancer and heart disease.
"We transformed dominoes into conversational tools that prompt critical intergenerational chats on family health among London's Black Caribbeans," said Ketchum Creative.
"To break down this stigma, we dived into Caribbean culture and discovered 'liming', meaning chilling and hanging out over good conversation. And what do Caribbeans love to play? Dominoes."
As a result, Ketchum created bespoke sets with scientifically derived questions engraved in the pieces, prompting conversations.
The game is now available in local barber shops, nail parlours, community centres, cafes and churches.
This project has been longlisted in the product design (health, wellbeing and wearables) category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
