Modem Works and Panter & Tourron have collaborated on the design of Terra, a pocket-sized AI-powered compass.
Terra, a joint venture by Modem Works and Panter & Tourron, is a pocket-sized AI-powered compass that enables phone-free, mindful walking experiences. The device generates personalised routes based on user input such as time, intention and location.
With a minimalist interface and gentle haptic feedback, Terra encourages users to disconnect from their phones and reconnect with their surroundings.
This project is fully open-source, allowing anyone to build, adapt, or extend the design using 3D-printed parts and accessible electronics.
Terra blends advanced technology with a meditative approach to movement, fostering a slower, more intentional relationship with digital tools and urban exploration.
This project has been longlisted in the product design (consumer design) category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
