Waiting For Ideas has designed the PP-1 Record Player, a sculptural, plug-and-play turntable that redefines the listening ritual through radical minimalism and intuitive use.

In a world where music has become an endless stream, where tracks flow seamlessly without pause, PP-1 redefines the listening experience.

Balancing radical design with intuitive simplicity, PP-1 brings the physical gesture back to the core of our connection with music, allowing us to rediscover the raw emotion it conveys and to place the act of listening back at the centre of the experience.

"The goal was to create a turntable that brings back physical and emotional connection without compromising on simplicity," said Waiting for Ideas.

"A design object as intuitive as Spotify, but with the depth and presence of analogue sound."

PP-1 is more than audio equipment – it's a sculptural experience. Crafted from a solid block of aluminium, the PP-1 features a radical, monolithic design that conceals all complexity.

This project has been longlisted in the product design (consumer design) category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
