Profil is a versatile seating system designed by Keiji Takeuchi for Hydro's R100 exhibition premiered at Milan Design Week 2025, crafted entirely from Hydro CIRCAL 100R —aluminium made from 100 per cent post-consumer recycled aluminium.

The project emphasised hyper-local production, with all processes, from material sourcing to final assembly, conducted within a 100-kilometre radius in the Netherlands and Belgium.

Profil showcases the potential of sustainable materials in high-quality design, offering modular components that can adapt to various seating configurations.

The design balances precision engineering with a minimalist aesthetic, demonstrating that environmental responsibility and refined design can coexist seamlessly.

This project has been longlisted in the seating design category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
