Sfossils has designed Paean, a collection of sculptural ceramic pendant lights.
Paean is a collection of sculptural ceramic pendant lights that explores alternative glazing processes to create textured surfaces, which ambiently diffuse cascading light.
Minerals, periodic elements and processes borrowed from metallurgy, glass blowing and enamelling are used to create highly textured surfaces inspired by those found in nature.
These forms pose as a floristic study of the biotic life unique to the landscape of the Canadian west – from the verdant forest floor to the distinctive, rich underwater terrain off the shores of remote coastal islands.
This project has been longlisted in the lighting design category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
