Svea Tisell has designed Kryss, a collection of self-supporting, three-dimensional textile objects made from a single rope.

Kryss transforms a single rope into sculptural, self-supporting mono-material objects, exploring the boundaries between form, function and material potential.

Using the Multiweave technique, one continuous rope weaves through warps to form three-dimensional shapes, tied together by a single knot.

If this knot is untied, the shape can be fully unravelled and the material completely reused for something new.

The project redefines textile as a load-bearing structure, expanding the possibilities of design and function while maintaining a focus on simplicity and innovation.

This project has been longlisted in the textile design category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
