Bodo Sperlein has designed Botanica for Gan, a collection of Indian-crafted rugs.

The Botanica collection marks the first collaboration between Gan and German designer Bodo Sperlein, known for blending artisanal crafts with organic, contemporary designs.

Inspired by natural forms like flora and fungi, these rugs exhibit a strong biophilic character, connecting interiors with nature.

Sperlein employs varied pile heights and colour nuances through hand-tufting and carving to achieve intricate details, volumetric effects and an illusion of depth.

Ideal for spaces seeking warmth and a natural touch, Botanica rugs come in grey, green and yellow, with organic outlines and two size options, with an aim of bringing serenity and organic beauty to interiors.

This project has been longlisted in the textile design category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
