Sappa has designed Sappa Panels, a sustainable acoustic panel system made from hemp plant residue.
Sappa Panels are sustainable acoustic panels made from industrial hemp residue, transforming agricultural waste into high-performance sound-absorbing solutions.
Following a circular production process, they minimise waste and sequester carbon, resulting in a CO2-negative material. Lightweight, durable and fully biodegradable, Sappa Panels provide an eco-friendly alternative to conventional acoustic solutions, combining functionality with a natural aesthetic for interior spaces.
"Sappa Panels were created to meet the growing demand for sustainable, high-performance acoustic solutions," said Sappa.
Designed for architects, interior designers and eco-conscious businesses, the panels are made from industrial hemp residue and natural mineral-based binder (cement-free) that, in the end, creates a CO2-negative product.
This project has been longlisted in the surface design category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
