Slalom has designed Woody, an innovative sound-absorbing wall hybridising recycled plastic fibres and regenerated FSC® wood.
Woody is Slalom's acoustic panel integrating regenerated FSC® certified wood with recycled plastic fibres via a patent-pending thermoforming technology.
This process creates a lightweight yet solid sound-absorbing surface offering durability, easy installation, circularity and exceptional acoustic performance with a refined design.
Woody's elegant, grooved surface is evocative of 20th-century master design, while maintaining a sober and contemporary look. Designed for contract, hospitality and break spaces, it redefines work environments with warmth and functionality.
Aesthetically, Woody introduces a natural warmth through its minimal wood grain finish, aligning with biophilic and human-centred design trends, where its neutral tones complement a range of colour palettes and interior styles and integrate seamlessly with Slalom's wider acoustic range, supporting organic spatial design.
This project has been longlisted in the surface design category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
