Light Cognitive has designed the circadian lighting installations of the Subterranean Sky and Garden, transforming a windowless basement into luminous garden suites.

The Garden Suites at The Trafalgar St James Hotel transform a windowless basement into a serene retreat through architectural lighting.

At its core are Light Cognitive's custom circadian installations, which replicate not just the spectrum and rhythm of natural daylight, but also its emotional and visual richness.

The result is both physiological and poetic: a lightscape that supports well-being while evoking the beauty of a living sky.

More than a solution, the lighting defines the space – blending seamlessly with lush greenery to reimagine underground design.

When daylight is absent or unreliable, this versatile design offers an inspiring architectural and aesthetic alternative.

This project has been longlisted in the architectural lighting design category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
