Office of Things has designed Moons, a tailored lighting design for an office building.

Moons is a reactionary design solution for the spaces in a newly occupied office building, spanning dozens of hallways, each with its own architectural conditions.

The design involves a precise, surgical lighting exercise for maximum immersive effect, while the lights are meticulously tailored to each area, with shapes and colours composed in situ.

"With Moons, lights are integrated into an architectural space to create an immersive environment with as few built things as possible," said Office of Things.

These gestures highlight elements such as doors or steel structures, create layered effects through glass partitions and produce subtle reflections.

"Ultimately, the design elevates the mundane into surrealist landscapes," added Office of Things.

This project has been longlisted in the architectural lighting design category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
