Fengfan Yang has designed Hang On, an unconventional table system for public spaces.

Hang On is a modular table system designed to redefine the use of public spaces and enhance communal interaction.

By rethinking and challenging the architecture of the conventional table, this project aims to overcome the inherent limitations of public furniture design, affording users a fresh approach to generating interaction and creating vibrant environments.

Traditional tables often occupy excessive space, resulting in inefficient use, especially in smaller public environments.

This product, inspired by an observation in small street-side restaurants in China, rethinks the design of public space furniture.

As a result, small benches or stools were used as tables in these environments, perfectly suited for the needs of both the space and its users.

This project has been longlisted in the furniture design category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
