Nice Projects has designed the interiors of Odem, a contemporary Korean makgeolli bar in Singapore.

Odem is a new and vibrant makgeolli bar located within New Bahru, Singapore's emerging lifestyle and creative hub, with a distinctive design that reinterprets traditional craft practices, celebrates artisanal flavours and convivial storytelling.

Celebrating the growing popularity of makgeolli, a traditional Korean rice wine, Odem is the first bar of its kind in Singapore and offers tastings, dining and workshops.

"Our design, with its distinctive half-charred timber panelling, transforms the space into a contemporary yet culturally rich environment that pays homage to Korea's diverse craft traditions, blending heritage with modern hospitality," said Nice Projects.

This project has been longlisted in the bar and cafe interior category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
