Ēter has designed the interiors of CCAF, a cacao apothecary firm in Riga, Latvia.
Riga-Wien-Zurich-based architecture studio Ēter have created an atmospheric environment for a cafe located in the centre of Riga serving ceremonial cocoa, matcha and functional cocktails that nourish the mind and body.
Despite a particularly tight budget and short realisation timeframe, the architects have designed an interior of custom-made design elements using found objects, material off-cuts and off-shelf pieces.
Deploying a combination of raw materials and transparent, authentic detailing, the functional components of the interior are softened by elements that serve as gentle bodies.
Together, this makes space for a robust yet soothing ambience on one of the busiest streets in the city.
This project has been longlisted in the bar and cafe interior category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
