Ralph Appelbaum Associates has designed the exhibition interiors of the John Randle Centre for Yoruba Culture and History in Lagos, Nigeria.
As an all-encompassing celebration of Yoruba art, fashion, literature, music and history, the Centre's collections have been drawn from the communities they celebrate.
As a result, Yoruba experts and novices can dive deep into the stories, myths and traditions of Yoruba heritage, encountering immersive experiences, from the dynamism of Yoruba festivals to the rich visual culture of Yoruba history and ancestry.
By blending traditional Yoruba narratives with cutting-edge exhibition design and technology, the John Randle Centre not only preserves and celebrates Yoruba culture but also engages visitors in a meaningful dialogue about its past, present and future.
This project has been longlisted in the exhibition design (interior) category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
